Kelly Osbourne has reportedly split from Slipknot star Sid Wilson, just seven months after he proposed.
The heavy metal musician, 49, popped the question backstage at Ozzy Osbourne’s final-ever show with Black Sabbath in Birmingham’s Villa Park last July.
It was an emotional moment, with brother Jack and parents Sharon and Ozzy watching on with pride. The Crazy Train hitmaker died just one month later from a heart attack after years of well-documented ailments; he was 76.
Sid and Kelly, 41, who began dating in 2022 but met 27 years ago, also share three-year-old son Sidney.
But according to the Daily Mail, as the reality TV star continues to process her grief following her father’s death, their romance entered a ‘difficult’ period.
A close friend of Kelly’s said: ‘Kelly and Sid have decided to call off their engagement.
‘Kelly has been struggling following the loss of her father. The grieving process has been incredibly difficult, and she’s been doing everything she can to cope.
‘In truth, she and Sid have been facing challenges in their relationship for some time, and things were not as they appeared.’
The insider added that the couple ‘tried to make it work, particularly for the sake of their child, but ultimately decided that separating is the best path forward.’
‘Kelly has endured a great deal over the past year. Despite everything, she remains sober and is now focusing on herself and her role as a mother moving ahead.’
She and Sid went public with their relationship on Valentine’s Day in 2022, having first crossed paths in 1999 at Ozzfest, the music event founded by her parents.
Sharing a post of them kissing passionately, she wrote at the time: ‘After 23 years of friendship, I can’t believe where we have ended up.
‘You are my best friend, my soulmate, and I am so deeply in love with you, Sidney George Wilson.’
Later that year, they welcomed their first child and have been residing on a farm in Iowa ever since.
However, the last time she and Sid were pictured together was at the Grammys in early February. Kelly’s subsequent public appearances have been with her friends or mum, Sharon, whom she joined at the Brits in Manchester to accept Ozzy’s posthumous lifetime achievement award.
Following the appearance on February 28, Kelly was forced to respond to comments about her appearance, having been branded ‘frail’ and accused of being ‘too thin’.
Taking to her Instagram Story, she vented that there is ‘a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something’.
She hit back at trolls for ‘kicking [her] while [she’s] down’ and ‘doubting [her] pain’ while she needs love and support ‘the most’.
‘I’m currently going through the hardest time of my life,’ she penned. ‘I should not even have to defend myself.
‘But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanised in such a way!’
When her dad died, she wrote a devastating tribute for social media, saying she had ‘lost the best friend [she] ever had’.
Then, in November, she recalled: ‘I always heard Dad going down the stairs in the morning. The first thing I always said to him was, “Morning, Dada, I love you.”
‘And I’d call it out, and he’d say, “I love you more,” and walk down the stairs. And on the morning that he passed, I didn’t say it.’
Kelly and Ozzy were famously close, as she appeared with her family in hit MTV series The Osbournes in the early noughties and performed with him on stage.
In 2003, the father-daughter duo released a duet, Changes, which charted at number one.
Ozzy also jokingly called her his ‘favourite child’, describing them as ‘two peas in a pod’.
Kelly has not commented on the state of her marriage since last being seen with Sid, but wore a brave face on Saturday as she attended Lily Allen’s show at the London Palladium and then joined celebrations at the Broadwick Soho Hotel.
She was joined by close pal Kinicki.
Reps for Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson have been contacted for comment.
